World Farmers Association and Philippine Trade and Investment Center Hong Kong Agree on Agricultural Cooperation

On August 13, Mr. Tang Heng, Head of the World Farmers Association Hong Kong Office, met with Mr. Roberto Mabalot Jr., Deputy Consul and Commercial Director of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Hong Kong. The two sides discussed enhanced collaboration in agriculture and identified key areas for future partnership.

Mr. Tang outlined WFA’s global network and initiatives and invited the Philippine to the World Farmers Forum 2025 in November. He also expressed WFA’s interest in leading a delegation to the Philippines to observe local farming practices and explore cooperation in technology, trade, and sustainability.

Mr. Mabalot welcomed the proposals and reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to strengthening ties with WFA. A Philippine business delegation will visit Hong Kong in mid-November for further talks.

Both parties agreed to focus on agricultural technology, sustainable practices, and trade, and will establish a regular communication mechanism to facilitate cooperation.

As an international organization dedicated to farmers’ interests and agricultural development, WFA views this meeting as the beginning of a new collaborative phase with the Philippines.
