[Contributions Wanted] The First Farmony Cup World Short Video & Photo Contest
The first-ever "Farmony" Cup World Short Video & Photo Contest, which is jointly organized by the World Peasant Association (Global Peasant Organization) and China Agriculture Cooperation Association (CACA), has accepted submissions. The contest aims to raise global attention to "agriculture, rural areas, and the wellbeing of peasants", showcase the beauty of rural areas in various countries, and work together to build a global community with a shared future for peasants.
Entries for the contest must capture images from rural productions, depict scenes from rural life, present the rural landscape, and showcase rural folk traditions and customs. The specifications are explicit and comprehensive: short video works must be in MP4 format, have a duration of between 60 and 300 seconds, and highlight citizen views and details. In addition to being bigger than 5M and in the best possible JPG format, photography pieces should fit the topic. At the same time, the contest follows strict rules, all works must be submitted as "objective records", with no alterations, additions, or reworkings made to the original photographs, in accordance with the contest’s stringent rules and regulations. The authors are responsible for the copyright and portrait rights of their works, but the organizers have the right to use the selected works in various ways during the term of copyright.
The deadline for submitting entries is September 30, 2024, and submissions should be addressed to fortune@wpa-gpo.org. The contest has set up a substantial prize pool that consists of two grand prizes (one for each category: short video and photo), each worth RMB 30,000 Yuan in rewards (awards), in addition to several first, second, and third place prizes and awards of excellence.
The prize will be awarded in November 2024 in Cyprus (Europe). At present, the solicitation of contributions is in progress, and we invite photographers and photography enthusiasts to join the contest and showcase the beauty of villages across the globe in terms of production, life, environment and humanity.
