On August 15, WPA conducted an important working meeting via videoconference to discuss preparations for the “Farmony” Cup World Short Video and Photo Contest. The meeting was to increase worldwide awareness of agriculture, rural regions, and peasants’ concerns through this international competition, to highlight the distinctive features and cultural values of the countryside, and to foster international agricultural exchanges and cooperation.

The meeting was chaired by Zhang Qi, WPA’s Secretary General and Director of the Organizing Committee, with the participation of Zhang Guoqing, Director of the International Cooperation Division and Executive Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee; Shi Xudong, Deputy Director of the Publicity Division and Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee; Chen Jianjun, Deputy Director of the Office of the Arts Council and Director of the Organizing Committee Office.

At the conference, Chen Jianjun first reported on the status of the competition preparations. He elaborated on the effectiveness of the key aspects of the work, stating that the organizing committee developed a detailed promotion strategy to increase the competition's visibility and influence through various channels and methods, as well as attracting more people to pay attention to and participate in the competition. Meanwhile, the necessary work is moving in an organized manner, and active communication has begun with several firms to provide various resources to support its smooth growth.

Mr. Shi Xudong, Deputy Director of the Publicity Division, then delivered a speech, stating that the Department of Publicity would work closely with the International Cooperation Division and the Zhejiang Branch to ensure the competition’s success. He noted that the competition is not only a platform for showcasing the beauty of the countryside, but also an important opportunity to promote international agricultural exchanges and cooperation, and that the Division will capitalize on its strengths and contribute more heavily to the publicity and promotion of the competition.

Director Zhang Guoqing conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to all relevant divisions for their assistance and objectively assessed the problems facing the preparatory process. He stated that, despite certain problems, he was confident that with the combined efforts of all parties, the hurdles could be overcome and the competition would be successful. He also pointed out that organizing this competition will increase WPA’s worldwide impact and contribute positively to the promotion of sustainable global agricultural growth.

Finally, Secretary General Zhang Qi gave a closing statement. He emphasized the importance of fully mobilizing the forces inside WPA and encouraging members to take part and contribute. He stated that the competition is a window to showcase global rural culture and a bridge for worldwide agricultural exchanges and that all member divisions of the organizing committee should collaborate closely to guarantee that all competition preparations go successfully.

As the competition approaches, exceptional pieces from all over the world will emerge, painting a vibrant, realistic, and moving picture of the countryside for a global audience.
